California Calls
In the darkness, my acquaintance
Ocean waters crash and roll
California calls my name
Though the mount has closed the door
Singing sorrows, giving answers
Singing tales to be told
Mother Earth has opened her mouth
Swallowing my city whole
Tides no longer touch the shore
Of sands in time that I call home
While the rock falls from afar
The ground now beneath is closed
But I can change
I must believe that I can change
No one cares to listen to me
Everybody turns to run
But moons will shine forever
Only in echo of the sun
Can't the past predict the future
Can't my failure stand to say
I still have the time to give up
Take this chance to get away
Make a new life, find a new love
Lose the dreams you cannot gain
Winds of time keep pushing always
Taking me far from LA
But I can change
I must believe that I can change
Looking out for my deliverance
Taking time to stop and say
How can it be
That such a golden land can go away?
Ocean waters crash and roll
California calls my name
Though the mount has closed the door
Singing sorrows, giving answers
Singing tales to be told
Mother Earth has opened her mouth
Swallowing my city whole
Tides no longer touch the shore
Of sands in time that I call home
While the rock falls from afar
The ground now beneath is closed
But I can change
I must believe that I can change
No one cares to listen to me
Everybody turns to run
But moons will shine forever
Only in echo of the sun
Can't the past predict the future
Can't my failure stand to say
I still have the time to give up
Take this chance to get away
Make a new life, find a new love
Lose the dreams you cannot gain
Winds of time keep pushing always
Taking me far from LA
But I can change
I must believe that I can change
Looking out for my deliverance
Taking time to stop and say
How can it be
That such a golden land can go away?
