Places Like Providence

She had a way with words
Roll in my ear like a coming storm
Splinters and fragments of us
Come back to me in a cymbal rush

Something inside me was bound to give way
I'm seeing ghosts, seeing specters in rain

In places like Providence, and Indianapolis
The Pocono Mountains, 54 through West Virginia
There's so many places I could go that won't make me feel so alone
But in places like Providence...

Life can't be painted in greys
Colors decanting from songs and highways
Her life is not my concern
But constant reminders remain at each turn

Something inside me was bound to give way
I wasn't ready to go back again

To places like Providence, and Indianapolis
The Pocono Mountains, 54 through West Virginia
There's so many places I could go that won't make me feel so alone

In places like Providence, a cliff on the water's edge
Photographing a foggy day on Lighthouse Point in the snow
No matter how far away you've gone, part of my love goes on
In places like Providence
