Update: Ben, Danielle & Elizabeth came home from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon. The three spent the next several days building a routine at home. Elizabeth is a generally happy baby who only cries when she's hungry. She is also sleeping well at night, only awaking for periodic feedings.
Danielle is recovering well and has enjoyed taking some neighborhood walks with Ben and Elizabeth.
At her first doctor's appointment on Friday, we learned that Elizabeth gained back some of the weight that she lost following birth.
Ben and Danielle had their parenting skills put to the test in just their first night at home. Heavy thunderstorms hit the Pittsburgh region all evening, eventually knocking out the power in their home forcing them to feed, change, and ready for bed by flashlight. In the middle of the night, Danielle needed assistance handling an explosive diaper situation. She woke up a groggy Ben by exclaiming, "we have a blackout and blowout and I need your help!"
Ben, Danielle and Elizabeth are looking forward to new adventures in the week ahead.
